Range Professionalism
I’ve long lamented that if you maintain excellency in things like targetry and range accessories it translates into the seriousness of your training.
Pranka refers to it as “properly resourced training.” If you’ve trained with him and seen his trailer you’ll understand.
I train at a decent range as my main home base. I have a range at the house and another range closer to town, but most training is at a facility that offers a long rifle range.
They host outlaw DMR/carbine matches and some more tactical oriented type matches.
It never ceases to amaze me how they get 100$ a head for a 1 day match, and they use cardboard cut out targets. Not stamped targets. But amateur cut outs. Mismatched pasters. Nothing is more aggravating to me than using off white or light tab pasters on cardboard.
Non moveable walls made from plastic sheeting? 275 gal totes you can’t move for vision barriers? Cmon, this is amateur hour. It’s almost a joke.
What’s the average USPSA / PCSL match? 10-30$? Sanctioned matches ladies and gentlemen.
Take your training seriously. If you half ass your set ups and training aids, I’d submit you are probably half assing your training.
